Middle School Band Programs
The success of the Round Rock High School Dragon Band begins at the middle school level. We are extremely fortunate to have students from each of the following three highly-successful and accomplished middle schools within the Round Rock ISD converge to make up our Dragon Band Program!

CEDAR VALLEY MS - Jaguar Band
The Cedar Valley Middle School Jaguar Band is led by Director of Bands Pete Alvarado and Assistant Director of Bands Jeff Owen. After the 2017-2018 school year, the Jaguar Honors Band was named National Winner in the Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors Project!

CHISHOLM TRAIL MS - Cougar Band
The Chisholm Trail Middle School Cougar Band is led by Director of Bands Jared Adams, Assistant Director of Bands Natalie Fagerberg, and Percussion Director Kyle Hammack. The Cougar Band was selected by the National Wind Band Honors Project as the 2014 Mark of Excellence National Winner and performed at the 2016 Music For All Festival in Indianapolis, IN.

WALSH MS - Wildcat Band
The Walsh Middle School Band is led by Director of Bands Jennifer Bergeron, Assistant Director of Bands Stone Wang, and Assistant Director of Bands Zachary Glaser. The Wildcat Band has grown to become the largest band program in the district with over 400 students! Walsh is consistently recognized as a National Winner in the Foundation for Music Education's Mark of Excellence Competition. In 2025, the Walsh Honor Band was a finalist for the TMEA 3C Honor Band Competition. The Walsh Band has performed at The Midwest Clinic, International Band and Orchestra Clinic and Conference, and the Music for All National Concert Band Festival.
